Windows 7 hits 150 million licenses

Microsoft has announced that it has now sold over 150 million Windows 7 licenses since the product first launched in October 2009, reiterated that this makes it’s current flagship OS as the fastest-selling operating system in history. Doing the math, Windows 7 customers are snatching up 7 copies every second.

Apple releases iOS 4

Apple has just released iOS 4, previously known as iPhone OS 4, a major update to the mobile OS running on it’s mobile devices.  iOS 4 brings in a handful of significant changes—the most awaited of which is Apple’s implementation of “multitasking”— and a slew of tweaks and improvements to existing functionality.

If you’re wondering whether you’ll be getting the update, iOS 4 is available only for the following Apple devices:  iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 3G users (as well as second- and third-generation iPod touch users).  No iPad. iPhone users will get the update for free while iPod touch users will need to shell out some cash for it.

AMD has released the Catalyst 10.6 drivers for those running on ATI Radeon HD 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000 series desktop cards and Radeon HD 3000 and 4000 series IGPs.

Not long after the software update from Apple, performance issues concerning the Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.4 Update and certain Steam titles cropped up for some users.

Microsoft unveils 2010 Xbox 360 model

Not to be outdone by the PlayStation 3 Slim by gaming console rival Sony, Microsoft unveils it’s latest update to the XB0x 360 console.  Redmond describes the new model as “sleeker, smaller, whisper-quiet.”  The arrival of the new 360 model lines itself with the company’s upcoming release of it’s motion controller peripheral, Project Natal, now known as simply Kinect.

Oh, and custom memory cards like the ones made by Datel are incompatible with the new XBox 360 model.  Full Specs after the jump.

Adobe releases Flash 10.1

Adobe has just released (quietly I might add) the Flash 10.1 plugin.  This new version supports hardware H.264 video acceleration on Windows PCs (no Mac or Linux release yet) with compatible graphics processors.  This is good news for underpowered ultraportables and some netbooks should now be able to play high-definition YouTube videos.
