Mobile: Flash 10 runs better than HTML5

Flash is faster and much more efficient than HTML5 on mobile phones, that is if Web developer Christopher Black’s conclusions hold water.

Black says, “HTML5 will sit side by side with Flash. Gradient fonts, drop shadows, basic video and simple transitions are probably better suited for HTML5. When it comes to rendering display objects, animation and digital rights management for video, it would be silly not to use Flash.”

Catalyst 10.9 drivers now available through Steam

Catalyst 10.9 Drivers now available through Steam

It seems to be the unlikeliest of partnership but one that makes more sense than your average mash-up.

AMD has now announced a partnership with Valve that will see graphics driver updates appear on Steam.  Aside from providing you an alternative means of downloading ATI‘s latest drivers, the content distribution service will be able to “detect and install the latest ATI Catalyst driver for . . . ATI Radeon graphics card directly from within Steam.”

Samsung Mobile Secret Codes

Aside from the default functionality from it’s menus, Samsung phones (like those from Nokia) also support secret codes which give you specific and additional functionality. Whether it’s to view your phone’s serial number, the IMEI number or even disable the GPRS (something that you can’t find in the menu), Samsung has included a specific secret code for you to use.

These secret mobile codes are usually not included in your phone manual which is why they are referred to as secret :) .

Gmail introduces Priority Inbox

Gmail introduces Priority Inbox

I wasn’t able to try this until recently (mostly because I’ve been extremely busy finishing stuff) which is why I’m only posting about Gmail’s Priority Inbox just now.

So what exactly does the Priority Inbox do? As the name implies, it’s a sort of email segregation but it’s not just another implementation of tags, and stars (both of which already present in Gmail). Instead, it’s a visual segregation of your emails that will allow you to see which emails you need/want to prioritize in your inbox… hence the name :)
